The West Central Georgia Black Chamber of Commerce (WCGBC) was officially established in June 2022 as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit membership-based organization. It was founded to serve as a catalyst for economic empowerment and to promote business growth initiatives for Black and minority-owned businesses in the Region 4 area of the Georgia Regional Commission.
This region includes 10 counties: Butts, Carroll, Coweta, Heard, Lamar, Meriwether, Pike, Spalding, Troup, and Upson. These communities are rich in history, culture, and an entrepreneurial spirit, yet they have historically faced barriers to equitable access to capital, contracting opportunities, and local business support services. The formation of WCGBC was a direct response to address these disparities and strengthen the support available for minority-owned businesses.
